Back Bay Boxing and Fitness was founded in 2014 by Irish Boxer and Fitness Coach, John Murray.

I'd be lying if I said I am not tempted to try out other boxing gyms but what has stopped me is how great Back Bay Boxing and Fitness is. John (owner and instructor) is a well skilled, thoughtful and challenging instructor. Class sizes are small in comparison to what most boutique boxing gyms offer and that's the beauty of it--individualized attention from the pro himself. Whether you are new to boxing, looking to lose weight or training to get into the ring, John and BBB should be your go to. Unlike other boxing gyms, BBB and Fitness focuses on mitt work and technique. I have never been to a fitness class that has been so dedicated to working on your individual skill. Even after attending classes for months, there is always something to improve upon. If you're a newbie and just getting interested in boxing--Back Bay Boxing and Fitness should be a mandated first stop to actually learn HOW to throw a punch. If you've been boxing, well come learn the proper way because more than likely you've been punching the bag incorrectly. Just do yourself a favor and try it out.
